we give s and most of us receive s
..why do we give them
BUT before that..

i just want to throw something out there for you..

approximately every 2 minutes 120 deviations are loaded on dA
that means every hour has about 3600 deviations
so in 1 day..
i repeat.. 1 day..
ABOUT 86,400 deviations are loaded on dA
so in a month there is around 2,592,000 deviations
NOW.. how many favourites do you currently have

i currently have about 232 s
i have been a member of dA for about 1 year

ABOUT 31,104,000 deviations have been loaded since i joined alone
..i haven't even hit .01 % of the deviations with a

back to why we give s
it all comes down to..
WHY DO YOU ENJOY THEM
now i must admit..
i enjoy comments that lead to conversation about the subject much more than the all mighty

but i do enjoy the s and all the collection adds a great deal
why?
it lets me know that i have done an okay job on the deviation..
that someone knows i put work into the deviation
it stood out to them enough to have them click a button or drag it into a box that makes their screen load

i think s are a sign of encouragement.
ESPECIALLY to more novice members who, like me, are still trying to perfect their craft, learn new ones, and might be self-taught
another thing.. if someone s something of mine and it doesnt have much attention.. i may ask them advice on the piece. 90% of the time people respond with at least their opinion. and sometimes you get helpful advice that actually progresses your work

i invite you to rethink how many s you have.. start giving out a few more.
maybe make more special collections for those you find AMAZING and such..
but give s for hard work and creativity as well
even if it isnt the most beautiul work you have seen in years.. it is art isnt it?
and everyone deserves some love

and one way to show your love on dA
